The Man Behind The Apron
Hey there, I’m Chef Ted—the culinary storyteller behind Let’s Cook. My love affair with food began beside my grandfather, a seasoned chef whose kitchen wizardry ignited the flames of my gastronomic passion. Picture this: a 17-year-old me, fresh out of high school, stepping into the bustling world of culinary arts. My journey kicked off with a bold move—I walked into a local favorite restaurant and told the manager I wanted to work as a chef.
Starting as a dishwasher, I quickly immersed myself in the hustle of the kitchen. Three months later, I found myself on the cook’s line, crafting dishes and falling in love with the art of cooking. The restaurant industry, as demanding as it is, became my training ground for almost three years. Yet, the flame still burned, and I decided to pursue a business degree in college, all the while moonlighting as a waiter.
Despite momentarily drifting from my dream of becoming a professional chef, the fire never dimmed. For over four decades, I’ve dedicated myself to the craft, studying techniques, experimenting with flavors, and constantly evolving in the kitchen. Cooking, for me, is an intimate act of love—a sentiment I bring to every dish shared here at Let’s Cook.
